Pearce Barracks

Client, Parks Victoria

Design, manufacture and installation

Parks Victoria required Challis Design to provide a range of interpretive structures representative of those that once existed at Pearce Barracks (Point Nepean National Park) during WWI and WWII. Interpretive structures included a bed, table, chairs, showers, and the main Canteen building. All fabricated from galvanised steel to withstand the environment. Bed, table and chairs feature marine ply surface to prevent scalding. Interpretive graphic panels are displayed in the Engine Room and convey the experiences of key individuals during WWII, along with photographic evidence of how the site once looked, and how it was used.
